Vulnerable

She was a woman shattered
Like porcelain pieces on the floor
Empty of her wild spirit
Not the same as before

A dark room her pieces laid
Little light for her to see
One by one gluing parts together
The process felt like an eternity

Then a helping hand knocked
But she refused to let them inside
Ashamed for how broken she was
Their judgment had her terrified

As time went on they chatted
Trust grew as she became more whole
Each smile brought another piece together
Bringing back essences of her soul

With half her face and torso glued
Trustful and happy, fearful and vulnerable
Half her body crawled to the outlined door
To let in the person who made her comfortable

Tall rectangular light cut into darkness
A silhouette entered and saw her mess
She feared they would ridicule her flaws
Despite how much she made in progress

Without judgment, all love and compassion
He sat down with her in the dark
“You don’t have to be alone.” He said
Then glued back a big piece of her heart

  1. Awwwwe… Beautiful. Expression per excellence.
A broken hearted vixen that coursed the stages of recovery from heartbreak… Denial, acceptance, moving on et al, till she met another other who would love her with all her ruins & build her back to full confidence.
    Very relatable.
